As schools reopen, it's time to plan engaging experiences beyond the classroom. Adventure Farm offers the perfect blend of nature, sustainability, and hands-on learning for school trips. Students can explore the Urban Forest filled with native trees and wildlife, visit a thriving farm-to-fork vegetable garden, and engage with friendly animals at the Animal Barn.
They will also discover the fascinating process of making gelato, sorbet, fresh fruit juices, and smoothies, indulging in nutritious farm-fresh treats. Through outdoor activities and immersive learning, each visit fosters environmental awareness, sustainability, and a deeper connection with nature, creating unforgettable memories in an outdoor classroom that blends fun and education seamlessly.
Explore Nature with Our Urban Forest Tour
Our Urban Forest Tour provides a unique opportunity for students to understand the importance of green spaces within the city. They will explore various trees, plants, and insects while learning about biodiversity's role in ecological balance. Guided by experienced guides, students discover how trees purify the air, support wildlife, and contribute to sustainability. This hands-on experience fosters curiosity, encourages environmental responsibility, and inspires students to protect nature for future generations.
Hands-On Learning at the Animal Barn
A highlight of Adventure Farm is the Interactive Animal Barn, where students meet and interact with cows, sheep, goats, pigs, geese, rabbits, and even catfish. They learn about each species, their behaviors, and their contributions to farm life. This experience emphasizes treating animals with care and understanding their role in food production and sustainability, helping students develop empathy and valuable knowledge about farm life.
The Farm-to-Table Vegetable Garden
Our vegetable garden showcases fresh, organic produce used daily in our farm-to-fork restaurant. Students learn how crops like tomatoes, spinach, kale, and carrots are grown, harvested, and prepared. The Banana Forest and orchards provide ingredients for fresh smoothies and juices, teaching the value of fresh, local produce and encouraging healthier food choices.
The Farm Factory: Gelato, Sorbet, and Fresh Juices
A favorite stop is the farm factory, where delicious, farm-fresh treats are made. For over 14 years, we’ve crafted artisanal gelato from our cows' milk. Unlike ice cream, our gelato has lower butterfat and less air, making it richer, creamier, and healthier. We also offer handcrafted sorbets made from fruits like mango and pineapple, providing dairy-free, vitamin-rich options. Fresh fruit juices and smoothies made from farm-grown ingredients keep students energized and hydrated throughout their visit.
Exciting Outdoor Play and Adventure
After a day of learning, students enjoy thrilling outdoor activities like ziplining, sliding down our Tippie slide, painting, planting trees, and petting rabbits. These activities promote teamwork, creativity, and physical activity, helping kids bond outside the traditional classroom setting. A day at Adventure Farm ensures students leave with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for nature.
The Benefits of an Outdoor Learning Experience
Adventure Farm’s outdoor classroom concept offers numerous benefits, enhancing curiosity, problem-solving, and peer collaboration. Outdoor learning improves focus, reduces stress, and strengthens the connection with nature. The combination of fresh air, sunlight, and hands-on activities supports overall physical and mental well-being, fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment and an appreciation for the natural world.
